WLtoys Q696 looking like a great value
Today we’re checking out the WLtoys Q696 which is a new quadcopter featuring altitude hold, headless mode, one key return, 13 minutes of flight time, and the ability to add a gimbaled camera.
Looking at the quadcopter you’ll notice that it stands pretty tall off the ground, this is because you have the ability to add a gimballed camera or purchase one of the other versions of this quadcopter.
Design wise it is pretty large at around 19 x 19 inches, weighs around 455g, comes in white, and has the traditional X frame. It also comes with brushed motors and a removable plug in 2S 2600mAh battery.
Since the battery is the snap in type you will either have to rely on their batteries or if you have the technical ability you could modify it for your own batteries.
The transmitter that it comes with has a great looking button layout and a nice clean LCD in the center. For the control sticks they’ve decided to use the longer type with what I would call a dull serrated texture giving you a great amount of grip.
The LCD they have with this one actually looks like it is going to give you some useful information like altitude, flight duration, and flight speed. I honestly haven’t seen this information incorporated into an LCD on something this cheap and it’s pretty refreshing to see assuming the data it displays is accurate.
The WLtoys Q696 is so far looking like a pretty great quadcopter, great flight times at 13 minutes, altitude hold for easy flight, and a great looking transmitter with useful LCD display. For the price of this quadcopter it definitely is looking like a great deal with lots of value and I highly recommend clicking the button below to check it out for yourself.
